Dodgy shots and Naked Dancers
Well, it as been a while since our last update to you all. As per usual we’ve all been busy with different things and Neophilia seems to have had a bit of a holiday, that doesn’t mean that things haven’t been happening- just not on the scale of a 300 seater venue.
One of the reasons for this is the unavailability of most of our dancers, which I thought I would update you on. Two of our dancers are joining ENB for their Romeo and Juliet run at The Royal Albert Hall (Benny and Gaby.) Although sadly for Gaby, she has had her leg in plaster for the past few weeks and for that reason will be unable to perform. Benny was also offered a contract with Michael Flatley-which just goes to show how versatile he is. You may also be lucky enough to catch him in one of the latest Radox adverts, jumping about wearing very little-which brings me to Tom...
Tom joined the Ballet Boyz at Sadler’s for their production ‘Naked.’ Which David and I popped along to see last week. Please note that the title is slightly misleading-because he doesn’t get his whole kit off!
So all in all, our dancers haven’t done too badly! But it does mean that while they are dancing for the ‘big guys’ we have to keep the momentum going in other ways.
Several things have been under negotiation for a while and ballet.co will be the first to know about the details. I always feel it’s best not to ‘jump the gun’ in telling people about our plans, until they’re totally confirmed! It’s tempting fate to announce things before they are set in stone! So you will have to wait a little longer for our news.
In the meantime here are a couple of pictures to keep you amused. David and Beth recently dancered for Neophilia at The New Ambassadors Theatre in a show a couple of weeks back, that was a platform for up and coming artists, play writers and actors. It was tricky given that the size of the stage was tiny (the scenery for the play in the evening was left on stage.) But they did admirably well, considering the short notice and the steep rake on the stage.

The second thing we attended was an exhibition at The University of the Arts (near Bond Street.) This was organised by Deutsche Bank and was an exhibition displaying work from all of the Artists they have sponsored though their Pyramid Award Scheme in the past 13 years- an award that I won back in 2002. We had one of the production shots from ‘Woman’ blown up to A1 size displayed, which really looked impressive. I apologise now for the dodgy photo-I couldn’t sneak in my SLR, so had to make do with a disposable camera, where the flash didn’t work and the film was damaged by the printers! They aren't really the best quality shots! Please forgive me.
