Essex County Council Write Letters

Revisiting the idea of Fonteyn being an example for us all of keeping it simple (see Lac To Basics), have a look at this letter:

Dear Sirs,

As an existing supplier to Essex County Council (ECC), we would like to inform
you of the new developments to our procurement and financial systems.
As part of the electronic Government agenda, ECC has now fully implemented
I&DeA’s (The Improvement and Development Agency) Marketplace. This was
developed and designed as local governments own procurement solution and
electronic trading environment. ECC is committed to working with our supplier
community on the delivery of electronic procurement, which includes
developments within the areas of electronic ordering, invoicing and payment.
As a supplier to ECC currently registered on I&DeA Marketplace, you should now be receiving purchase orders directly electronically. Over the forthcoming months, we will also be introducing the ability for suppliers to invoice us electronically.


And now here it is in English:

Dear Sirs,

In line with government policy, in future you will be contracted for work via e-mail.
