Questions and Answers: Dancing the Phoenix Question
These days, almost everywhere I go I find People asking me all these questions and it is quite amazing how quickly a bit of information can become distorted the further away it is from the source.
Well, just to clarify a few things, I thought I'd write a bit.
Am I happy that we still have an autumn tour? Yes
Am I happy that certain people were called in to assist in the execution of the tour? Yes
Was I expecting the company to close? Maybe
Is it still open? Yes
Do I want the company to continue? Yes
Am I pissed off at events leading up to current situation? Yes
Will current situation affect forthcoming tour? No
Is there truth in Phoenix going ‘back to black’? No
Are dancers still committed to performing in company? Yes
This basic questionnaire in my opinion is a fair account of the current situation and in hope should prevent certain bits of inaccurate information from filtering out into the minds of the overly creative in thought. There has, to my knowledge been some hefty speculations about happenings within the company, which is fine when taking into consideration the nature and size of the industry. Despite circumstances and the current situation, we are still willing to deliver top-notch work and take it to the masses.
