catch up
hello there...i think its time i updated you on a few things that have happened in the world of Ballet Central since I wrote last. As Emma said, the second tour was amazing, being 8 days of solid fun and drama, with very long coach journeys inbetween times to break it up. however, the motorway did not deter us from having a good time, but towards the end of the tour it became just a little bit wearing, and whenever a service station appeared that had a Marks and Spencers a joyful cry went up because it meant we could get ourselves a treat!! The first venue was Crosby (which has a lovely tapas restaurant by the way) and the performance went ok, but the best was (as Emma said) the first night in Hexham. You definitely learn to treasure responsive audiences! In Colywn Bay Matt, Emma, Bec and I went to a local school and ran a workshop for their students who were studying dance. They were wonderful! especially when we started to teach them a section from Overleap (the final piece in the programme) because they were sooo enthusiastic, they were lovely to teach, especially since we were slightly nervous when we arrived! and afterwards they faithfully came to watch the performance and gave us a standing ovation!!!!! twas fabulous :) nearing the end of the tour, people were starting to miss London, so when the coach passed through familiar surroundings on the way home there was a lot of excitement! there were people and buildings instead of fields of sheep!! (of which there had been many!) anyway, that seems an age ago now, as we are all stressing about our dissertations and other degree work that needs to be handed in very soon...and also about the Linbury performance coming up! it's in two days and rehearsals have been plenty! loads of very important people are coming so the nerves are beginning to kick in...
will write again soon.....hopefully sooner than last time! x
