The following is part of the 32 page Royal Opera House press release that was issued on the 28th January 1999. Use the index, left, to goto whichever section you need for more information. The reopening of the new theatre will see the implementation of a new policy on ticket pricing. The Royal Opera House is committed to ensuring that the widest possible audience has access to performances by The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, and that the pricing and availability of tickets genuinely and consistently supports this aim. The new ticket pricing policy reduces prices for most seats and also ensures that a proportion of all seats at all prices will be available for direct sale to the public through the Box Office. Special lower price schedules will be introduced for performances on Friday and Saturday evenings and there will be further reductions for matinees.
Tickets for BP Amoco Schools' matinees will continue to be priced at £6.
