The Royal Opera House today unveiled plans for its first season in the newly reopened theatre from November 1999 to May 2000, together with the strategic plan for the future of the organisation: These plans include:
  • An Opening Festival of events in November and December encompassing the opening of the 1999/2000 seasons by The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera

  • The programme for The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet in their first seasons in the newly-redeveloped Royal Opera House, with accompanying outreach work

  • New ticket prices for both Companies, ensuring increased accessibility

  • Regular opening of the Royal Opera House to the public during the day as a normal feature of its daily life for the first time

  • Events in The Studio Theatre and the Studio Upstairs in the opening season

  • The completion of the Royal Opera House's strategic plan for the future
