LETTER TO THE PARISH FROM THE DEANE OF ST DEREK'S
The last few months have seen the outreach work of St Derek's expand as never before. We have held Gospel meetings in cities throughout the world, spreading the glorious good news to people who have never had a chance to hear it before. Parishioners have been especially generous during the offertory, and the church roof fund is healthier than ever.
Special thanks to all those who helped in the special presentation of the gospel in last month's Loaded magazine.
Stir-up Sunday was a great success this year, thanks to the generous efforts of the Sunday Times.
Some of you may know that Mr Hampson
has
decided to become a missionary, and though he leaves the parish at Michaelmas,
our prayers go with him, and I am sure we all look forward to seeing a
slide show of his missions when he returns.
MY CUP RUNNETH OVER!
As some of you may know, the Lord
has burdened me with a message for this beloved country of ours, and I
will be continuing my series of sermons on the theme of fat, tits and bums
throughout Rogationtide, though of course I do not use such words.
If any of you would like to attend
the Consecration Service at St Dowell's,
there are details on page 7 of the magazine.
