A letter from the President of Summer Camp 1999 Dame Blandine Ebinger |
|
Dearest Parents, Children, Sponsors, Friends: It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to another successful Summer Camp. Every year, I am amazed by the very high standard of students from all over the world, particularly of the Japanese. Where do they all come from I wonder? As is often the case, I shall not be able to personally attend all the classes held this year in Norbury, but I shall of course be kept informed of developments by the police as necessary. I look forward very much to awarding the prize for this year's Guessing the Weight of Ham competition, which was won last year by Robert North in a close contest between himself and June Smethrington. (Better luck this year June!). May I take this opportunity of encouraging you to buy from my dear friend Ekaterina Eleftherou's campus shop. As I am sure you realise, many of the children who attend my summer camps are not talented enough to enjoy a career in the dance profession, and perhaps do not have the accountancy skills to work for the Arts Council, but they will find endless enjoyment shopping along the periphery of it. Onward and upward, Dame Blandine Ebinger |
