Here is a link to the previous column in the series.
Trapeze I have been working on Trapeze for just three weeks and my dancers have had to become trapeze artists in this short time. Well, I cheated. I’d been having trapeze lessons for over three weeks prior to their rehearsal period. I suffer from vertigo and I haven’t done any sort of training (ballet or otherwise) for over three years. If I could do it, so could
I completed the ballet only two days ago and we had some visitors to watch the next day. One of whom was Noëlle Mann and it’s because her that we’re all doing this piece. Noëlle discovered this “lost Prokofiev score”. I was quite nervous about her seeing the work as she knows more about Prokofiev than her own husband (her own admission).

In the Autumn I’ll be re-staging Nutcracker, followed by a new production of Giselle for the Prague National Ballet (2004).
Other stuff too, but let’s leave it there. I shall write from New Zealand. Until then…
