Anybody who saw the Royal Ballet Dance Bites tours (reviews link) will probably remember Cathy Marston's work - its invention and freshness particularly.
While other choreographers perhaps waxed and waned Cathy always seemed to deliver a goodie for Dance Bites.
Having danced and choreographed in Europe for much of the 1990's she returned home in summer 2000 and, charming woman that she is, agreed to write a diary for us with hardly any arm twisting whatsoever... th rest is history as they say.

This is a really short message rather than diary I’m afraid…. I’ve been away for most of the month, performing Hamlet with Arc Dance Company…. it’s been really nice and I think the show is worth seeing – so please come – 30th April and 1st of May at the Queen Elizabeth Hall!
As I’ve been away things are completely piled up – not only on my desk but all around my flat, and I’ve got to rush out to the Sadlers Wells to tech English National Ballet's Facing Viv that goes on this week! So…can’t really go into much, however, I really want to urge you to come to the Sadlers this week to see ENB’s new programme of new work. It includes pieces by Hampy, Wahne McGregor, Patrick Lewis and myself – which I think is a really exciting and brave mix! At times like this, when West End shows are virtually giving away tickets, because theatre is not really top priority, ballet companies like ENB need all the support and encouragement they can get. I saw a run through of the bill yesterday in the studio and it looks great – so please come taste it!!
I’ll stop the promotions now, but hopefully see you at the Sadlers Wells/ QEH very soon!!
