| Worst Production | Bejart's Bolero | |
| Special Mention | ENB - every piece in London season was great (and smoother than corresponding RB's piece).
Bolshoi showed us how an orchestra, character dancers and corps could make a difference. I wish I could enjoy them in a less innovative Swan Lake.
| Eye-opener of the Year | Wonderful works by visiting companies thanks mostly to Sadler's Wells (RB also was in a good form there) including NBT's Dracula and SFB's Gala / Triple Bill. | |

| Worst Production | Didn't see anything so dire that I'd nominate it (Or if I did, I've forgotten it!) | |
| Special Mention | Highlight of the year: Thomas Edur doing *that* backbend in the second act of Swan Lake at the Albert Hall. Even now the memory nearly makes me go weak at the knees!
Funny: How could I possibly forget the pony in the RB Fille Mal Gardée leaving little presents all over the stage!
Nina Ananiashvili's superb performance in the Bolshoi Raymonda.
Welcome reopening of the Royal Opera House - shame about the prices!
RB Reopening programme at the ROH - probably one of the highest points of Dowell's career as Artistic Director.
Most regrettable: the cancellation of ENB's planned performances of Onegin.
The absolute feast of high-quality and international dancing in London put on largely by Sadler's Wells last year. A shame more of it couldn't have visited other cities in the country.
Nadezhda Gracheva's stunningly classy yet sluttish performance in Spartacus - probably the second-best part of the entire season (for best, see above).
That magical bit in Ondine where what seems to be a waterfall suddenly turns into the corps de ballet.

| Special Mention | Favourite: Miyako's Lise - elegant!; Bolshoi Orchestra - turbulent (and just right)!; POB - a gold mine of male dancers.
Dissapointment: Kirov didn't come to London!; ROH orchestra - current state simply not acceptable.
... and my admiration should go to all the resident RB dancers, who survived and came back in a better shape.
| Eye-opener of the Year | Guillem's Giselle - her naturalistic approach in act I mad scene may be a new 'standard' in the immediate future.

| Special Mention | Belinda Hatley in the School performance of Giselle. An enchanting afternoon. Collier was there of course to keep an eye on the students and the fact that she had coached Hatley in the role made the afternoon very special. The sight of Collier "bourre(ing)" along the row ( on the soles of her feet!)to take her seat after the interval without disturbing the people seated was a sight to behold. | |
| Eye-opener of the Year | Jonathan Howells as Alain in Fille. When supporting roles are danced to the standard he produced, you have the perfect evening at the ballet | |

Miyako Yoshida for her exquisite poise and unfailing musicality, a real jewel.
The glorious Bolshoi character dancers, especially Yulia Makhalyants.
Christina McDermott who never fails to look relaxed, charming and that she is enjoying dancing - so much of the young talent forgets the importance of this for the audience.
Darcey Bussells uniquely fresh and youthful qualities in Serenade
And of course Irek who is quite irrepressible and irresistible in everything he does, even Bolero (just)!

I consider POB the best company, their Swan Lake the best production, Guillem the best dancer.
Moreover I had the chance to see three of the four performances with the new partnership Guillem/Bolle: same lines, same dazzling smoothness, definitely the ultimate must for ballet goers.

| Eye-opener of the Year | Rocky year for Scottish Ballet politically and to some extent artistically. Kenn Burke left after an admirable couple of years keeping everything together, making way for Mr and Mrs North to find a different direction. I'm cautiously optimistic that things will turn out well.
My admiration for Christopher Bruce and Rambert is undiminished. First 45 mins of God's Plenty rates with the best.
Reevaluated: Whether I can afford ever to go to the ROH again afterall.
