Interviews and views
Before joining Rambert in 1997, Matthew was a soloist with the Royal Ballet, having trained at the Royal Ballet School. He brings to the Company strong technique, precision and a magnetic stage presence. His colleagues say that he's a larger than life character, with lots of energy and drive.

He is also forging a career as a choreographer and has won several prizes, including the Frederick Ashton Choreographic Award. He has choreographed for the Royal Ballet, ENB and City of London Ballet. Overall, Matthew promises to play an important part in the future of British dance. {top}

Interviews and views
Patricia trained at the National Ballet School of Canada and went on to dance with the National Ballet of Canada and Ballet British Columbia. Since joining Rambert she has made a big impression with her beautiful, fluid and expressive dancing. She left everyone shell shocked when she played the prisoner in 'Swansong' at RDCs Peacock season and her lyrical portrayal of Dame Marie Rambert's early days in 'Quicksilver' at the Coliseum was a fine tribute to one of the pioneers of dance in Britain. {top}

Interviews and views
After a variety of dance schools, including White Lodge, Jo danced with ENB, where she was a Principal. Together with her technical strengths she brings a strong dramatic sense to Rambert. As devotees of ballet.co will know, Jo has had an injury problem, which has proved difficult to pin down and resolve. At the time of writing, further tests are being carried out and we all wish Jo a complete recovery. However, we should all have the chance to see her in 'Cruel Garden' in the Autumn 1998. {top}

Interviews and views
Paul has a justifiably strong reputation in the UK dance world and has prizes to prove it. He has also danced with London Contemporary Dance and Irek's occasional company. He is an exceptionally powerful and expressive dancer and Rambert make good use of his terrific stage presence in a wide range of works, including 'Petite Mort' by Kylian and 'Stream' and 'Rooster' by Bruce (Christopher that is) to music by The Rolling Stones. In this latter piece, he impressed by giving a moving sketch of a soul in torment to 'Paint it Black' in this otherwise hilarious work. {top}

Interviews and views
Having trained in Australia, Elizabeth has graced modern dance in the UK with two stints in Rambert, and one with Siobhan Davies Dance Company. She is a lyrical, fluid dancer who can bring freshness as well as beauty to her roles. In the current revival of 'Cruel Garden', she has a commanding presence whenever she is on stage.

She is also striking off in other directions, being a published poet as well as contributing to the magazine 'Dance Europe.' Nearly as impressive as writing for ballet.co. {top}

Interviews and views
A familiar face to those who have been following UK dance since the mid-80s, Vincent danced leading roles with BRB before joining Rambert. A technically strong dancer, he also has the knack of communicating drama and humour in works such as 'Rooster'. He has choreographed work for BRB as well as London City Ballet, and in addition uses his wide experience to good effect as a Company Teacher and Rehearsal Director. {top}

Interviews and views
Born in Holland, Didy danced with various continental companies, before coming to the UK. Dance professionals have commented on her thrilling technique and strength in dramatic works. As an example, she has been impressive as the prisoner in 'Swansong' over the past year.

Didy is really carving out a reputation as a choreographer and 'Greymatter' and 'Kol Simcha' are both in the Company's current repertoire with the latter work recently recorded for Danish TV. {top}

Interviews and views
Glenn is another Rambert performer with extensive experience in modern dance and trained at the School associated with the Company. He has worked with seemingly ALL the big names, such as Alston, Childs, Tetley and Davies as well as Bruce. In the early 90s he brought his powerful and dynamic technique to Cunningham's 'Touchbase', which was created round-robin fashion with 3 groups of dancers, one from Rambert and two from Cunningham's own company. He too has been encouraged by Bruce to create work for the Company (a long-standing tradition of Rambert) and his 'Brown Ballet One' opened in 1997. {top}
