Students Diary
Four final year students tell us about their tour and auditions

The school was established by the late Christopher Gable in the 1980s. The course lasts for 3 years and has an annual intake of 25-30.

Entry is from the ages of 16-19 and students should have completed their secondary education to GCSE level prior to entry. About 70% of the students take 2 ‘A’ levels and the results are better than the national average.

Performance opportunities are available with the school and with ‘British Gas Ballet Central’, the school's touring company during the third year.

The success rate for obtaining professional contracts is about 95% on average.

Audition details
The major exams are used as one indicator of level and girls need to be strong on pointe.

Auditions are held in Leeds and London between December and February. Overseas students can also apply by video.
