Using traditional dances from across Africa in a western theatrical context, the Company dances to live drumming. Traditional costumes, drumming and dancing combine to create exciting, energetic and enthusiastic performances. Narratives often link urban and culture clash themes with traditional African experience. This can add an emotional dimension to the performances, but sometimes seem over-simplistic. However, their recent work has seen the company on good form and for a colourful and different dance experience, Adzido is recommended. |
