Real Audio We are experimenting with audio on Ballet.co and for now we have decided to standardise on the Real Audio format. Real Audio (RA) is the most popular format for delivering audio capabilities on a web site and you will increasingly find that having the player capability on your computer will pay dividends. RA format is also incredibly efficient. For example 3.2Mb of speech in Windows 'wav' format comes down to only 75K in RA format. To play any of our audio clips you may need to pick up a Real Audio player from the Real Audio web site. Any of the free players they do should work just fine and we are using an established format so you are unlikely to need to upgrade if you have an RA Player already. A word on Quality: Many of the samples we use are taken from interviews conducted in far from ideal recording circumstances. We hope to get better at this as time goes by, but for now we hope that you can live with background sounds and other hubbub. Thanks!
