March 8th issue of OK! magazine has a two page spread in their Diary pages on the party thrown by Audi at Darcey and Roberto's Manon performance.A very mixed bunch of guests, from Kenney Jones, Neil Fox, Mario Testino and Ben Fogle to Jimmy Choo, James Cracknell, Bryan Ferry and Caprice to name but a few. The guests were treated to a champagne reception followed by a buffet. Absolutely nothing on the actual performance but Darcey and Roberto feature in the shots published. |

Approaching the ROH Bow street entrance a brillant light attracts our attention...oh yes we say the Olympic bid...but no Audi. Two silver 4 wheel drives below the Floral hall and the name Audi projected for all to see and none to miss!
Yet again the Crush room is closed for the duration ...thought is was a public room! Bussell and Bolle have a beautiful line but a lack of emotion. Miss Bussell obviously loves jewels her reaction as Des Grieux removes the bracelet is excellent...a woman after my own heart.
The real stars of this evening Ricardo Cervera and Laura Morera (Lescaut and his Mistress)...fab footwork and a real energy a fizz.
Elizabeth McGorian a tall aloof Madame.
The last act caught alight and Bussell revved up with some of the best dancing from her in along time. Bolle partnering her well but is his knee troubling him? It looked as if kneeling and straighting it caused pain!
New costumes and a travelling set???...anyone else noticed?? |

The role of De Grieux remains so attractive for male dancers that some of them, like Nikolai Tsiskaridze, learn it on their own, cherish the dream of performing it and wait until the opportunity arises. This chance was given to him by Makhar Vaziev and Nikolai danced this role with Nioradze as Manon at the Mariinsky Festival on the 29th of March and now with Daria Pavlenko on the 1st of May.
