"How to spot ballet.co.uk readers at ballet performances?"

Unluckily this season is too cold for wearing T-shirts. May I suggest instead pins in order to spot ballet.co.uk friends also in winter? I'm writing this because I booked my flight to London where I'll attend the mythical Ashton evening at Covent Garden on the 18th of March. To meet the English friends of ballet.co.uk as well as Marie (did you decide to make the journey from Paris?) would be the icing on the cake, the cake beeing to have decent seats (of which I'm not sure as I heard nothing from ROH Box office after my early booking).

Susy (a ballet addict since my prime and a ballet.co.uk addict since one year)

P.S.: Knowing that I'm plump and wear turtle framed glasses, that my skin is freckled and my black hair is streaked with grey is enough to spot me?

I think a ballet.co badge is an excellent idea. The small enamel logo ones are much nicer than the round button badges.

The question, of course, is who would pay for them? I’ve had a quick look on the Internet and they seem quite cheap (about £1) but you have to order them in bulk (about 150-200 minimum) so the initial outlay would be a lot.

Bruce: what sort of take-up have you had for Friends of Ballet.co and the T-shirts? Might it be worth considering enamel badges in future? I wouldn’t mind contributing to the "start-up" costs - or would you rather have the money go towards the server costs?!

Badges seem like a terrific idea... but the reality is that it can be difficult to get people to actually 'do' soemthing at times. Need to count again but we have just over 20 Friends. And around 10 T-shirts have gone out! I don't push it incredibly hard because I think it gets in the way at times. On the other hand I do understand the sites which do, because few visitors seem to respond unless stuff is very overt... a conundrum.

But I do like the idea of a classy badge and one also hopes that as people become more used to the Internet, ordering soemthing will becoem easier.

Thanks for the offer Katherine - much appreciated and will email you.
